Isn't She Lovely

This is a much better way to spend your tax dollars than education, healthcare, and heating assistance. Way way better than feeding poor children free and reduced price lunches at school.

This is the prototype of the new fast food worker. We couldn't outsource the ones we have and industry demanded a solution so NASA got right on it!

Jose Padilla --Day 1066

Still no trial, charges, or representation. The Bush Administration is still in open defiance of multiple court orders to rectify the sitiation to the law as it is, not a they wish it would be.

We still don't know if a mad scientist has grafted pig organ onto his body, if he has had his limbs amputated, or if he is even still alive at all. Maybe they keep him in the basement to pleasure Laura and the girls when Daddy can't get it up?

The Bush Administration's self serving disregard for the laws of our country just keeps bleeding through the layers of disinformation, distraction and propoganda but they do not care because the conservative christians who chose them are too fear based to question their leaders and demand better from the government that represents them.

Where does all this fear of questions and answers bring us?

For starters it shames us with even more unjustified detentions and gross human rights abuses.

You don't believe me?

Ask yourselves why we have yet another American citizen held as an enemy combatant. This man does not have a name, but he resides in one of three permanent American prisons in Iraq.

I know the government sez that he whatever blah blah blah, but they also said that they KNEW Saddam had massive stockpiles of WMD's that he was preparing to use on Americans and they said they KNEW where they were.

By now, even the snails in my garden know they lied about all that stuff. Sentient being realize they have lied about everything else as well. Another American soldier has thrown his life to the cause of the PNAC profit machine bringing the official number to 1535.

When will the men and women who hide behind the name of Jesus Christ stand up and put an end to this misery?

Thank-you Senator Burns

One Two Three Four!

Who do they keep dying for?

Halliburton!

Bechtel!

Flour!

Dynacorp!

GOP On The Run

I asked about Denny's traveling goodies from the government tour, it seems like Burns has one too. Sure they are nervous about the idea that they could be too close to Tom DeLay when the indictments start hailing and the tanking Bush polls.

How can I be sure? Look at the heavyweights that have been stoking key people here last week.

  • Joe Lockhart
  • John Snow
  • Carl Rove

Those three AND free money in a single week for a state with less than one million residents. What could they be running from?

Long Live The Pope

I like the Pope. I really do. I don't understand why he stood by a policy that enabled predators the sexual predation of children or possibly even supplied the children to sexual predators.

Really, a parish transfer is just a fresh crop of young'uns.

My fondness of the man in spite of that disturbing character flaw is not the reason I really want him to live at least a few more days. This Is.

eRobin reminds us this is THE issue. If the Pope departs too soon the media will go into another tailspin chasing their tabloid tails.

We tried to get fair elections before the last one and we have another one on the way. If we can't get this followed up on now, when will we?

Convoluted Insanity

|

Ironyline

Ted Koppel's show tonight is about the media circus surrounding the Schaivo story. Kinda sorta like cops who put the drug dealers in the back of the car then pause to shoot up, snort and toke one up.

To be honest, I haven't spoken to a single person, not one, about it this whole time. I am surrounded with conservative evangelical christians and it never came up once. We did talk about agriculture, trade policies, AIDS, water issues, genocide in Africa, extreme poverty in Africa and the crime that goes with that poverty.

Ted asked why this has siezed the attention of the American public and there is a reverend answering blah blah blah. Cokie said that the disability, not the anti abortionists lobby is pushing to have the government interfere with guardians decisions. Would this be the same group of people who can't seem to get our own government to live up to the accessibility laws?

Cokie is going after the judicial system; these people never stop, do they? She said that people feel disenfranchised by the courts and this would make the judicial battles even worse.*

I am still waiting for a reasonable explanation why some small protests get so much air while tens of thousands even millions of anti war protestors get none.

I can't wait until the media does a story about all the things we aren't informed about when they start chasing their tabloid tails. While I'm ranting, does anybody really want to hear about Ashlee and Jessica Simpson or does the teevee just tell us they do?

*How about that, she said pretty much what James Dobson said!

Are They Real?

"I've come to find I like liberals a lot more," Coulter said early in her speech. "They're kind of cute when they're cold, shivering and afraid."

Okay then, that's the way that Ann feels about us, but does John Altevogt agree?

"Ann Coulter is logical, rational and an independent thinker," he said. "In essence, everything the left hates in their womenfolk."

All I can say is, how much you think those boobies cost?

Goodbye Terri

Now you are free to be with God, free of the body that wouldn't let you communicate the simplest needs or desires.

I am sorry that we won't be able to discuss whether or not it was the wrong thing to do although I believe everyone could agree that it came about in the ugliest way possible. I am sorry that your last days were lost in the bitter division of gut feelings and political spin.

I do hope you got a good laugh at the commander in chief as he sprinted to his 'impromptu' press conference to spit out the words 'Terri Schaivo', 'culture of life', 'September 11'. Not a single word about the three soldiers who died in his war of lies.

Rest easy.

I laughed too, so I must be going to hell, but it would be the one for unpopular people. I was really proud of myself breaking 1500 hits today, but mmmmmnegh got more comments than I get readers in a month.

Maybe I'm trying too hard?

Malpractice

Governor Schweitzer signed four malpractice reform bills and that makes me a little nervous because I haven't had the time to check it all out, and really nervous because there are five more comming down the line.

I had a computer incident a while back and lost everything so I don't remember where I got some of this information, but here is some food for thought.

  • Most people will not sue if they are apologized too.
  • 5% of the doctors are responsible for 95% of all claims
  • The stock market is a much bigger factor in malpractice premiums than claims paid out.
  • Depriving people of full and proper recourse for damage done does not bring premiums down, it only protects really bad doctors.

Seal In Massachusetts

ABC's World News Now has a story about a harp seal that swam down the river, across the road and into someone's yard. I can't help thinking it is because Canada is in the process of killing hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals right now. I heard that as many as 40% of them are skinned alive.

If somebody was killing my friends and neighbors, I would look for help somewhere else, too.

Because GOD Said So!

GOD told a man who would never lie and he told another man who would never make a mistake.

Because it has been passed down in Hebrew, in Greek, in Italian, in German and maybe even Arabic and nobody ever made a mistake in the retelling or the copying of it.

So just shut your poopy mouth about evolution because it scares GOD's children to think it wasn't instant magic.

Just shut up.

Pragmatic Montanan

This wise man understands that you just can't count on your family. When real people have a crisis, they need Tom Delay!

Stranger shouldn't decide life or death

I'm writing my living will, naming Tom DeLay as having power of attorney to make all medical decisions.

I thought about putting my wife in charge, but you never know. She could find someone else, or want my money.

Tom, however, is a good Christian man. Look at how he's taken the time and trouble to get to know Terri Schiavo, and the concern he has taken for her welfare.

I know that Tom would always put my best interests first. He would care for me like a family member, and consider all the options as coolly as a judge.

Sleeping easily tonight - not!

Won't somebody please sew Mr. DeLay a wardrobe worthy of this importance? I picture reversible satin/velvet fuschia with ermine trim, tights, and Ben Franklin shoes with puffy feathers in the buckles. How would you adorn him?
