Disturbed By One Woman's Rage

That's what the woman who was anchoring Nightline said about President Bush's vacation.

Northwest Airlines-BOO

The mechanics have been asked to absorb a $176(?) million dollar pay and benefit cut and it is possible that they will strike at 10:01 p.m. tonight. Northwest has already trained new help.

Why Idaho?

Aren't we supposed to be at war? Running out of oil, we are. too.

Vacation Boy is flying into Idaho, for something to make him look busy and waste many barrels of oil. I bet that he made that decision after the state polls were taken and saw that Idaho likes him more than most other places..

Is This It?

So I heard a couple of reports about a ship being fired on. Okay then.

I forgot to say anything about the Russia/ China joint military exercises. Ten days of Russia and China involved in military exercises to provide a counterbalance to American imperial power.

Thanks for being such an arrogant butthead George.

Red Tide Blamed For Record Sea Turtle Deaths

POSTED: 5:56 am EDT August 18, 2005

SARASOTA, Fla. -- This summer's red tide outbreak is killing record numbers of sea turtles off the southwest Florida coast, scientists said.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, 106 sea turtle deaths were reported from June 26 through August 15. The 10-year average for the same period is 17.

Red tide poisoning affects turtles' brains, causing muscle twitching and an inability to control their neck functions, said Charles Manire, chief veterinarian at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota.

The institute has reported 113 sick or dead turtles so far this year. The total for 2004 was 83.

Manire said the turtles might be inhaling the toxin, or eating infected crabs, shrimp and small fish.

Researchers haven't determined whether the turtle deaths are linked to a large region of the Gulf of Mexico bottom about 10 miles offshore, where a red tide bloom has choked off oxygen and killed undersea life, Manire said.

From Sarasota County to Pinellas County, the red tide has killed crabs, sponges, soft corals and other bottom-dwelling marine organisms.

A red tide bloom forms when a microscopic algae reproduces at an explosive rate. The algae emits a neurotoxin that can paralyze or make breathing difficult for fish, manatees, or even humans that inhale or ingest it.

A winter bloom killed 47 manatees, said Cindy Heil, a senior scientist for the state's wildlife research institute.

The 9-11 Op-Ed the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Refuses to Run

Asking for the truth about 9-11 is so 2:30-3:05 p.m. September 12, 2001...

Certainly the dozens of panelists who spoke about post-9/11 violations of civil rights and liberties, the rise of secrecy and the hidden costs of covert operations and consolidation of intelligence, and the rise of the neoconservative view in foreign policy and a new "Pax Americana" and permanent warfare that ignore international law or the alternatives of restoring justice and peace cannot be called "conspiracy theorists" because they question the immediate response and flawed recommendations that now guide legislation and a new security paradigm.

Historians and researchers who discover glaring errors or omissions in the Commission's report, or the lack of historical framework to their comprehension of the sources of terrorism can't be called "contrarians" for unearthing facts that contradict faulty conclusions or assumptions in the official version of events.

This calls for another look at the government's account of 9/11, which guides so much of what has ha

ppened since. Mistakes of fact, intentional or not, have changed and guided America into costly wars and increased insecurity at home. They need to be addressed and scrutinized, not dismissed and used to attack those who discover or raise them.

President Bush, Clean Up Your Mess!

I couldn't disagree more with the position Dave has taken in a discussion about our responsibilities to Iraq, not that it matters bacause it doesn't. We've agree on all the important things like this being an out of control mess and that our responsibility should not end the day we run right out of there, but Dave thinks we should commit a lot more troops to stabilize the place yada yada yada.

I think we need to invalidate all that private contractor crapola and pull them out of there right now so the Iraqis have something to do instead of blowing each other up then negotiate our way out, but it does not matter.

That's it, it does not matter what Dave thinks or what I think; we won't get a say in it any more than we got a say about going over there and wrecking the joint anyway.

President Bush is going to do what he wants to do the same way he always does, but he needs a scapegoat; we should not step up to the plate for that.

We are completely helpless in this situation. Every citizen in this country could light candles, make posters, call their Congresspeople and do weave blankets with our toes and we would still be the one and only place for us in the end. Holding the bag, taking the blame for years to come.

Space thinks we need to set conditions for our support and let people know our choices are a,b, and c. Why tell people anyway, everybody already thinks they know everything they are willing to hear.

Step back, let go. The President and his neocons insist that they're grown ups doing a terriffic job; the people who believe them will never believe us anyway. Step back and let them see how well their President does without his scapegoats.

Dying For Our Freedom

How many people have to die before we get our freedom back?
|

Inside Job

Everybody's talking about the terror drill going live. Why is our government discussing premeditated murder of it's own citizens?

This government is not trustworthy, they plan crimes that happen.

Hillary

I think every internet user on the planet must have recieved this email at least once, but let's do it again here for old times sake. Shall we?

Gold Star Mothers is an organization made up of women whose sons were
killed in military combat during service in the United States armed forces.
Recently a delegation of New York State Gold Star Mothers made a trip to
Washington, DC to discuss various concerns with their elected
representatives. According to NewsMax.com there was only one politician
in DC who refused to meet with these ladies. Can you guess which politician
that might be? Was it New York Senator Charles Schumer? Nope,he met with
them. Try again. Do you know anyone serving in the Senate who has never
showed anything but contempt for our military? Do you happen to know the
name of any politician in Washington who's husband once wrote of his
loathing of the military? Now you're getting warm! You got it! None other
than the Queen herself, Hillary Clinton. She refused repeated requests
to meet with the Gold Star Mothers. Now---please don't tell me you're
surprised. This woman wants to be president of the United States and
there is a huge percentage of the voters who are eager to help her achieve
that.

Sincerely,

Cdr Hamilton McWhorter USN(ret)

Please forward this to as many people as you can. We don't want this
woman to even think of running for President.

Oh no, that cold hearted bitch! If we aren't careful we could end up with Hillary Clinton ignoring mothers of dead soldiers to go biking with Lance Armstrong, not that there is anything wrong with that, of course.

If we aren't careful, the Pope might start asking Hillary for immunity from sex crimes prosecution. She might even turn her head when little white soldier crosses are getting run over.

Go On With Life

Maybe I'm a hick, but where I come from, you pay your dues and then you get on with your life.

"it's also important for me to go on with my life"

Maybe I'm a hick, but where I come from it is customary to meet people who travel long distances to see you.

"But whether it be here or in Washington or anywhere else, there's somebody who has got something to say to the president, that's part of the job,"

Maybe I'm a hick, but where I come from, being sensitive doesn't mean avoidance.

"And I think it's important for me to be thoughtful and sensitive to those who have got something to say."

Maybe I'm a hick, but where I come from it people know how to exercise and listen at the same time.

In addition to the two-hour bike ride, Bush's Saturday schedule included an evening Little League Baseball playoff game, a lunch meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, a nap, some fishing and some reading.

Maybe I'm a hick, but where I come from people are more worried about their own health than they are about the President's.

"I think the people want the president to be in a position to make good, crisp decisions and to stay healthy,"

Maybe I'm a hick, but nobody I know, nobody thinks his decisions are crisp.

My Blogroll, Please

Is that one of the most pitiful blogrolls you have ever seen or what? I am utterly embarrassed.

I know that you should have your name there and you know it, too. I looked again and I still can't figure out why some links are there and others aren't. If you want to help a crazy old lady out, why don't you drop your code in the comment box?
