Resignations, Please

Conrad, Max, and Denny, you have all been too complacent about your representation of Montana and your responsibility to America. Please resign now.

You have all been cowards when it comes to holding our government officials accountable for the lies, the incompetence, the conflicts of interests. You have sacrificed our Constitutional principles on the altar of fear. Please resign now.

You have failed to balance the budget, failed to create jobs that would make positive contributions to the future or even to support workers with a little dignity and security. Please resign now.

You have failed to learn the words "Downing Street Memo" and "Resolution of Inquiry". Can you really be so frightened of what you may learn if you were to make an earnest attempt to find the truth about why we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars and the lifeblood of 1896 dutiful American sons and daughters for the reason d'joire?

You have coddled and enabled that delusional megalomaniac who severely mismanages the Pentagon while he spins fanciful tales about saving great money and easy conquests. Please resign now.

You have failed this country in so many ways starting with the cover up of the 9-11 investigation, the shameless war profiteering, the crony hacks that run almost every major department of our government.

How hard can it be to confront the Joe Lieberman's and the Tom Delay's you work with when they shirk their oversight duties or divert our resources to places they shouldn't be? Maybe you are terrified of Dick Cheney and Karl Rove, why have you allowed Joe Biden and Grover Norquist put the working citizens way behind well heeled donors and special interest groups?

This is not partisan bickering and it is not just about FEMA, human rights, and the war. This is about salvaging the remnants of any safety, opportunities, and the sustainability of our system.

What does a child born today have to look forward to? The food supply is insecure. Will the air be safe to breathe and will the water be safe to drink? Will today's children be able to plan to raise families of their own? Will we leave them any resources to make their own way in the world?

Will any of you have the courage, the foresight to ask John Roberts his views about the limits of government power, about our right to privacy, about his role in the 2000 recount, about his role in the Iran Contra Affair? Will you have the fortitude to do the uncomfortably correct things your positions demand of you?

It is well past time that you let go of the idea that your jobs are personal entitlements. Do Your jobs or resign your posts.
